First off, I just love this saying. Because it is true. You should never have to push or prod to get someone to do something. If that something is just spending time with you, texting you back, snapchating you back , bring you something to brighten your day. If he wanted to, he would. It is as simple as that and goes toward everyone in your life, to be honest.

So I just finished the devotional , ” If He Wanted to He Would,” by Esther Marie from her book ” Single Shouldn’t Suck.” This devotional spoke to me and answered so many what ifs in my mind about relationships and then my connection with my faith. I felt this came at the right moment, and God knew I needed to read this and feel it. I feel like I can now sit in this stage in my life and figure out the why of things I have been through when it comes to guys, relationships, and trying online dating . I was always the pursuer and never pursued. I would push and answer back, but then I would be ghosted. I would put in the effort but not get the same effort back. The devotional made me sit in these facts and release my own issues. I was pushing for those who didn’t deserve to be pushed for. Also, realizing the fact that the one guy that will always be there for you has got your back through it all is God. He has a plan for us, and we just have to be able to sit and listen and wait for what he has planned.
In the end, the message i got and give to yall reading this and feeling like me 👉 “Don’t settle for minimal effort. Don’t diminish your value. Don’t fall in love with a fantasy. Don’t give in to the trap of false promises. That’s not the narrative of a love story worthy of shouting from the rooftops. Turn the page and start living like the main character of a truly amazing adventure with God at the center of your heart’s desire. ”
